Advantages of hydrostatic spindles
- Hydrostatic spindles are wear-free, which means that the technical features remain unchanged over a long service life
- radial and axial run-out better than 0.3 μm as standard – 5 to 10 times better than with ball bearing spindles
- Low heat transfer, as the frictional heat is transported away with the oil. The maximum oil temperature is 12°C, the oil leaves the spindle in 1 second. The 30 μm as with ball bearing spindles.
- Hydrostatic spindles have very good damping
- Hydrostatic bearings do not generate vibrations like ball bearings
- Hydrostatic spindles with PM controllers have increased rigidity
