Advantages of PM controllers
Attenuation
- Approx. 3-6 times stiffer compared to systems with capillary chokes
Flow rate
- Clear lower flow rate, thereby clear lower Energy input
Gap size
- Larger gap at maximum load, thus reliably preventing contact and wear
Regulation
- Purely mechanical diaphragm regulator, therefore very reliable and inexpensive
- Very fast control and without hysteresis
Temperature
- Stiffness and gap changes not with the oil temperature and oil viscosity
- 90 % of the pump pressure 20-150 bar as pocket pressure usable
PM controller features
Properties:
- Virtually wear-free and hysteresis-free due to practically purely elastically operating regulating choke
- Relatively insensitive to soiling due to throttle gap with large rectangular cross-section or control throttle with a certain self-cleaning effect
- Excellent dynamic behavior due to minimal control travel, low masses to be accelerated and large actuating forces
- If the recommended installation position of the series PM controller is observed, it is self-venting
- Low space requirement
- Low weight, the controllers are mainly made of aluminum
- Corrosion-resistant, the liquid to be controlled only comes into contact with hard-anodized aluminium and the stainless steel diaphragm
- If the differential pressure on the diaphragm is unacceptably high, it is supported by support points on a spherical surface on the regulator housing, so that damage or even destruction of the diaphragm is largely ruled out
- With the PM regulator, pocket pressures of up to approx. 90 % of the pump pressure can be utilized – without a reserve
